Andy Ford, E.I.
Andy is an engineer-in-training with a BS in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University who has been working in materials testing, construction inspection and design for over five years where he has worked on everything from design to implementation of the finished product. He has worked on many infrastructure projects such as buildings, runways, cityscapes, stormwater and wastewater and is now enjoying learning about all that goes into solar civil site design. He has worked in the public and private sector in engineering, which helps him when communicating with governmental officials and AHJs to get permits or discuss local building codes.
He grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and moved to Colorado in 2007 to get a MA in Spanish from Colorado State University and pursue his love of the mountains. Speaking Spanish has helped him communicate with contractors as well as improve his overall communication skills and understanding of people with different types of backgrounds. He started with SEI Engineering in early 2020 since moving to Paonia, CO and has enjoyed skiing, rafting, hiking, camping, and getting to know his colleagues in the office. He enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures and communities around the world.
